Carolyn Smallwoood is serving her third term as a legislator on the Glenarden City Council. She has implement legislation that has improved the quality of life for the citizens of Glenarden. She graduated from DuVal Senior High in 1967.  Graduated from Prince George’s Community College in 1985 with a degree in Science and Technology.  In 2003, she continued her education at Maryland University, University College.  She is retired from the Security and Exchange Commission after 30 years.

Ms. Smallwood moved to Glenarden in June of 1963.  She has one son.  She help organized the Glenarden Track Club in 1983.  Sings on the church choirs and recently joined the Glenarden Senior Club who play cards every Friday at the Glenarden Community Center.  She is also member of the Glenarden Senior Line Dancing Group who also meet at the Glenarden Community Center.

Ms. Smallwood served as President and Vice President to the Glenarden City Council. She was responsible for the council budget, administering monthly agendas, work sessions, regular meetings and special meeting as needed.  Solicited funds for the new remodeled Martin Luther King Park.

Ms. Smallwood is currently working to revise the City of Glenarden Personnel Manual.
