Angela D. Ferguson have lived in the City of Glenarden in Ward 1, for 63 years.  It is a place where she has always been proud to call “Home”.  She attended Glenarden Elementary School, Thomas Pullen and Thomas Johnson Middle Schools, DuVal Senior High School and Prince George’s Community College, all located in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Angela has serviced as a Glenarden City Councilmember At-Large since May 2017 and is currently serving as Vice President of the Council. She completed a two-year Certification from the Academy for Excellence in Local Governance from the University of Maryland, College Park in September 2019.  Angela considers herself to be a Servant to the People and not a Politician.  She is also an active member of the Glenarden Civic Association since 2012.

Angela has a successful 44-year career in the Federal Government at the U.S. Department of Commerce/NOAA where she is a Management and Program Analyst serving as a Contracting Officer Representative and a Trusted Agent.  She provides administration and technical oversight of contracts serving as an integral member of the acquisition team while working closely with Federal and Contractor Program Managers.  She manages and monitors the contract operations, performances, funding, staff and pay invoices for multi-million-dollar time and material, firm-fixed price and service contracts.  As a Trusted Agent, she confirms the authentication and processes contractors for hire (onboarding and vetting) securing paperwork, background investigations, clearances and government credentials for federal affiliation employment.  Her career at NOAA has also included Administrative Support, Administration, Conflict Resolution and Management, Bank Card Purchasing Agent, Property Custodian, Personnel Management and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Representative.  She served as a Launch Guest Operations Center Liaison and the Launch Event Coordinator and Liaison for six of the nine world-wide publicized NOAA Weather Satellite Launches that has been launched and are used daily to provide timely access to global environmental data which allow alerts for weather forecast/National Weather Service (hazardous and otherwise) wildfires, volcanoes, floods, sea and aviation activity alerts and more.

Angela married David W. Ferguson, Sr., a lifelong Ward 2 resident of Glenarden; now being widowed for 23 years.  She is a mother of two sons, mother-in-law and a grandmother of six and is committed to her family and to the city in which she lives. She believes in the power of prayer, that we should do unto others as we would have them to do unto us and most importantly, she confesses and believes that the Lord Jesus Christ is number one in her life.
