Glenarden City Council unanimously appointed Consuella Barbour to the position of City Manager on December 2, 2021.
I am honored and humbled that Council has placed this type of confidence in me. We have some incredible employees who are dedicated to maintaining the city’s high level of customer service and I look forward to working closely with each of them.
Glenarden is a proud community, rich in history and with vibrant shopping and arts opportunities. Glenarden is also a community that is developing. The city is moving toward becoming a Sustainable Community through the State of Maryland, growing its shopping opportunities at the Woodmore Town Center, and improving sidewalks and roadways. Throughout the City we’re also replacing playgrounds, upgrading parks, and expanding senior programming.
My goal is to keep Glenarden moving in a positive and productive direction that will make all our citizens and visitors proud.
The city staff and I are here to serve and support you, and we look forward to meeting and interacting with you. Please take advantage of the opportunities, events, and programs we offer year-round – which can be found on the calendar page of this site and are also highlighted in our quarterly newsletter and on our cable station. I also encourage you to sign up for notifications by email or text message, so you’ll always know how you can take advantage of everything this wonderful community has to offer.
This really is a good place to live.
