City of Glenarden Contracts with CodeRED to Provide Emergency Notification Services to Community & to Test the CodeRED Community Notification System

City of Glenarden, MD – Following an extensive evaluation and thorough review of mass emergency alerting systems, the City of Glenarden has implemented the CodeRED system, a high-speed emergency notification service provided by OnSolve, based in Ormond Beach, FL. The CodeRED system will serve as the backbone of the City’s emergency planning and communications outreach. This platform will allow the City of Glenarden to communicate with residents/businesses by sending telephone calls, text messages, emails, posts to social media and mobile app messages to inform residents of emergencies, critical general city alerts/notifications and more.

The City of Glenarden Emergency Notification System, CodeRED, will be tested during the week of September 15, 2022 to validate telephone numbers in the City of Glenarden’s database. There is no need to take action if you receive the call as this process helps us continually improve the system. If your phone number is not in the database, you will not receive a call when we do launch an important notification.

To receive emergency and important information pertaining to City of Glenarden we encourage all residents and businesses to go to the www.cityofglenarden.org website, click on the CodeRED logo located on the homepage and enter your contact information, including additional phone numbers, and text and email addresses,  or text GLENARDEN to 99411 to receive the link directly to your mobile phone and sign up from there.

If you know of anyone who did not receive this call who lives in City of Glenarden please encourage them to visit the City’s website and enter their information.

If you do not have Internet access, please contact a friend or family member to help add your contact information to the emergency database. Questions regarding this system test should be directed to City of Glenarden at (301)773-2100.
