City Office Closures

City administrative offices will be closed on following dates:

  • Tuesday, November 8, 2022 in observance of Election Day (Municipal Center is a polling location for residents; see flyer here for more information.)
  • Friday, November 11, 2022 in observance of Veterans Day. 
  • Thursday, November 24- Friday, November 25, 2022 in observance of Thanksgiving.
Please note: trash collections will not be impacted by the Election Day & Veterans Day holidays. Collections for the Thanksgiving holiday will not be collected on 11/24, services will resume on the next scheduled collection day.

Annual Glenarden Harvest Day Rewind

Glenarden American Legion Veterans Day Service
Please join the Glenarden American Legion Post 275 and the City of Glenarden for a service in remembrance of our nations veterans.

Annual Veterans Day program on Friday November 11, 2022 at 11AM will be held at Glenarden American Legion Post 275 due to the rainy weather predicted. Following the program, a light lunch will be served.

2022 Maryland General Election


The 2022 Maryland General Election is quickly approaching! Election Day is Tuesday, November 8, with early voting from Thursday, October 27 through Thursday, November 3. VoteEarly

All Prince Georgians are encouraged to register to vote by Tuesday, October 18. Residents can also vote by mail. Drop boxes are now available throughout the County. Deeply Rooted: A Community Conversation - Maryland Emancipation Day 2022
 
“Deeply Rooted” explores the complexities of discovering the family lineage journey for Marylanders. This conversation led by Gwendolyn Bankins, Aisha Jenkins, Kyle Reeder, and Susan Cook invites guests to learn about their family connections to former sites of enslavement and the historic Black communities that arose from their legacies. College Application night

The Office of College Readiness is hosting their district-wide College Application Night Thursday, November 10th at Charles H. Flowers High School at 6:00 pm, 10001 Ardwick Ardmore Road, MD 20774. The goal of the event is to assist Seniors with understanding the process of going to college. The event will be an opportunity for our families to participate in FAFSA, MSFAA, and Scholarship workshops where they will learn critical steps in completing FAFSA.

The Prince George’s County Innovation Scholarship Program, sponsored in part by the Office of Council Member At-Large Mel Franklin, awards cash scholarships to high school graduating seniors (“Innovation Scholars”) who attend school in Prince George’s County, who commit to majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields in a 4-year or 2- year college or registered apprenticeship programs. MDOT Virtual Public Meeting - I-95/I-495 at Medical Center Drive Interchange Project

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA), in collaboration with Prince George’s County, is conducting preliminary design and an environmental inventory for potential improvements to the I-95/I-495 at Medical Center Drive (formerly Arena Drive) Interchange in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Preliminary improvement concepts will be presented at the virtual meeting. The public is encouraged to leave comments and ask questions in an online comment form, located under Community Outreach and Newsletters on the Project Portal. The public is also encouraged to send questions and comments in advance so they may be addressed during the virtual meeting. Attendees will also be able to send questions or comments through the Q&A feature during the meeting.
