Maryland Municipal League "If I Were Mayor I Would..." Digital Essay Contest

Each year, MML and the Maryland Mayors’ Association invite 4th-grade students to participate in this statewide essay contest. The essay contest theme for this year is "Preserving the Past to Power the Future". The contest's purpose is to help students think about ways to make their community a better place to live and work as well as to educate over 22,000 students and their teachers about Maryland municipal government.

If you or someone you know would like to nominate a County individual, business, nonprofit, school, or organization for a Waste Diversion and Recycling for going above and beyond to promote the importance of recycling and other innovative ways to help divert waste from being trashed in Prince George’s County.

The Department of the Environment is making it easy for residents to recycle cut Christmas trees (no artificial trees) by offering convenient

drop-off locations and curbside pickup. Yard trim and Christmas tree collection will run from January 2, 2023 to January 30, 2023.

Prince George's County FY 2024 Budget Listening Session

As the County Executive prepares her FY 2024 proposed budget, she wants to hear from Prince Georgians. Please tune in to the FY 2024 Budget Listening Session on Thursday, January 26, at 6:00 PM. Residents that wish to testify must sign up by Wednesday, January 25, at 5:00 PM, with testimony limited to 3 minutes per presenter. No Excuse for Teen Dating Abuse Teen Summit

The Department of Family Services, in collaboration with various community partners, is hosting its 10th Annual No Excuse for Dating Abuse Teen Summit on Friday, February 3, from 6:30 to 9:30 PM in recognition of February as Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Each year, the County comes together in an effort to raise awareness about teen dating violence and educate our youth. The event is free to youth ages 11-21 years and will include a teen panel, fashion show, spoken word, and more.
