Rent Stabilization Sessions
Earlier this year, a rent stabilization bill was passed that temporarily prevents landlords from increasing a tenant’s rent above a certain amount. As a result, the County has formed the Rent Stabilization Workgroup that will study and offer recommendations for a permanent rent stabilization bill within a year. The workgroup is jointly convened by the Department of Housing and Community Development and the County Council and will begin their work in July 2023. As the County launches this effort, residents are invited to attend three virtual sessions to learn more about rent stabilization policies and its impacts on both landlords and tenants across the country. The first session is on Friday, June 23, at 1:00 PM and will discuss local and national research. RentStabilization-Final
