Glenarden’s motto, “A City on the Move” has been steadily venturing beyond its humble beginnings to a vibrant and desirable place for retail and residential roots. Glenarden’s housing inventory includes classic bungalows, brick traditionals, new townhomes and single family homes with all the modern amenities and technology for today’s lifestyles. Many seniors have called Glenarden homes for decades, and are a mainstay in many of the homes’ original communities of Glenarden. Other homes, condominiums, and rental apartments help to round out the residential offerings. With continued significant planned development in its residential, office, and commercial sectors, Glenarden, one of 27 municipalities in Prince George’s County, has grown from a small community of 15 initial residents, into an ideal city with a healthy economy and a much sought-after quality of life.

The Municipal Center offices are open for business Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Center is closed on weekends.
Glenarden has a nonpartisan city government directed by a Mayor and City Council, The City Council meets on the first and third Mondays of most months in sessions that are open to the public.
Public Works and Police Departments
The Public Works and Police Departments are located on the lower level in the rear of the building. [ see map ]The Public Works Department is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. To report problems or emergencies after hours, call 301-773-2100, ext 29.
