Emergency Preparedness

Are Your Prepared?

Emergencies can happen at any time. They can affect a few homes, a few streets, or the entire city. Because it is impossible to know when disaster will strike or what type of emergency will occur, the City of Glenarden takes an “all hazards” approach to emergency preparedness.

The City of Glenarden plans and practices for emergencies, and responds to a variety of emergencies each year. Some emergencies are more likely to occur in our part of the country, near our Nation’s Capitol than others, and as such, emphasis is placed on those situations. But there are certain steps that the City takes and that residents and businesses can take to ensure basic preparedness for any emergency.
