Growing Green with Pride at JSWES
Join JSWES on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM as they beautify their school with Kindness! Please register for this event; follow the link below. Refreshments will be served. Volunteers and donations needed!!! *All student volunteers must be accompanied by an adult. Students in grades 6th -12th are welcome to earn community service hours. Happy Gardening! 
Here are a few projects planned for the day:
- Creating an outdoor reading space with hammocks;
- Repainting the primary playground;
- Cleaning the school grounds;
- Adding more raised planter beds;
- Planting plants;
- Weeding, etc.

JSWES Growing Green with Pride! Donation Letter
Save the Date for the 8th Annual Green Summit!
The Department of the Environment will return to Kentland Community Center to host this year's Green Summit! Join them on Saturday, October 22nd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for fun, green vendors and workshops focusing on our environmental impacts, such as litter, composting, clean air & energy, flooding, recycling and more!
The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required at doesummit2022.eventbrite.com.
Partners interested in tabling or hosting a workshop must fill out this Exhibitor Application and submit no later than Friday, September 16, 2022.
$5 Cat Fridays From May Through October 2022
All cats and kittens adopted on Fridays from May through October are only $5! Each adoption includes spay/neuter, current and age appropriate vaccinations and microchip. The $5 fee is for EACH cat adopted - there is no special pricing for a second cat.
As fall is approaching, the Prince George's County Department of Public Works & Transportation invite you to participate in their annual “Growing Green with Pride Day” community cleanup event on October 15, 2022.
City of Glenarden Cancer Awareness Event
Please come out to the City of Glenarden’s Cancer Awareness Event in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in partnership with Picket Fences and 2 for 2 Boobs.
There will also be discussion on Prostate Cancer and Colon Cancer. A lot of important information will be shared for both women and men.

If you are interested please submit donations until October 28, 2022. Donations can be dropped off at the Glenarden Municipal Center (8600 Glenarden Parkway).
